Okay this post is for B, but if anyone else sees something they like let me know.

These first 4 are the same, just different color combinations. I have the resources to make 3 more in this style, a blend of teals, a blend of darker purple, and a pink/cream/burgandy combination.

This one is the same as the first 4 only in a solid color. I can also make it in yellow, white, and black

Hello Again!

I know it's been awhile, and there are still a few people checking. So I figured I better get an update, before everyone abandons me. It was a busy summer. I moved to Virginia. I've been working a new job. That and racing has kept me busy. I have worked on several projects, mainly special orders for friends. I reopenned the Etsy store about a month ago, so I guess it's time to get the blog going again. I'll leave you with my latest American Girl Sweater.

Magnets

I made my first batch of magnets this week. I have to admit it was a little harder than I thought it would be. First finding a glue that I liked, and then figuring out the right amount to use so that it wouldn't gush all over the place.

It's been awhile since I updated. I've been busy. I took a trip to Georgia, and am starting to get ready for my Bike Racing season.

I'm also branching out in my creative efforts. In addition to knitting I'm going to start with two other types of crafts - Glass Magnets, and recycled bike parts.

I've purchased some glass magnets from other etsy sellers, and love them. I was looking at them the other day and realized I could probably do that. I've purchased the materials, and have made a couple, but I'm still experimenting with glues. I don't like the glue I have, and have ordered a different type that will work a little better.

I'm also going to try to make things out of recycled bike parts. I got the idea when I saw a bowl on the internet that was made out of a bike chain. They were charging $80 for it which I thought was a little extreme. I recently replaced the chain on my Surly and I thought I'd see if I could be creative with it. I'm not sure how this will go. But there are so many things you can do with old chains, I'm thinking about picture frames, candle holders, magnets, and whatever else I can think off. I decided I needed more chains, so I put an ad on the MMBA and got some responses. Velo City Bike Shop said I could have all the chains they had, so I made a trip out there yesterday to pick them up. While I was there I told them what I would be doing with them, and they offered to keep saving them for me. They're also going to save other bike parts that I might be able to use. They like the idea of recycling them. So hopefully with the stuff I get from them I'll come up with some interesting art projects. It might be awhile before I have anything to show for my efforts. I have to do some experimenting.

Young Knitters

My nieces are on mid-winter break, so I watched all three girls today. I had my knitting stuff with me, and was working on a sweater. They wanted to learn how to knit so I got some needles and spare yarn, and gave a knitting lesson. Jessica didn't last long, but Katie took right to it. She spent most of the day working on her project. It was amazing that she sat still for that long. She eventually wants to make a blanket for her Webkins.

Shop for a Good Cause

One of my fellow Etsy Sellers, who is also named Laura, is having a sale in her shop to help cover the cost of medical expenses for her daughter.

Her daughter is 21 months old and has been struggling with numerous medical problems since she was 9 weeks old. She was recently diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech which is a neuroprocessing disorder that will require years of therapy 2-3 times a week. Their insurance is denying additional occupational therapy as her "defect" is considered congenital and not due to illness, surgery or injury.

I work with children and families like this on a daily basis. While insurance often covers the "big" things, like surgeries, it's often the little things, like testing, and therapy that will drain a family mentally, emotionally, and financially. I have great respect for these families as they struggle to keep a "normal" life while juggling doctor appointments, evaluations, and treatments.

Ebay Sale

Ebay marked down their listing fees for one day, so I listed several American Girl Doll Sweaters, and hats. I had several on hand that I hadn't listed yet. These seem to sell better on Ebay then they do on Etsy, so I thought I'd take advantage of the lower rate.

New Sweaters

I just finished up several more American Girl Sweaters. I love these colors. I almost don't want to sell them. But what would I do with doll sweaters. I don't even own a doll. I'm still using Jessica's doll to model my clothes. I think at some point I'm going to have to get a doll, especially if I end up doing an art fair this summer.

I've started a second blog for my knitting stuff. I've been selling stuff on Etsy, and Ebay for a little while now. I've heard that blogging is a good way to network, and promote your items, so I thought I would give it a try.

I'm not sure what will be included in this blog. I'll probably show off the new stuff that I'm working on. And also feature some of the other crafters who's items I like.
